About the Natatorium


Pool Overview

The Natatorium at Western Kentucky University is a multi-use aquatic facility located inside the Preston Center. It is designed to support lap swimming, recreational use, instructional programs, and special events for the WKU community.

Facility details include:

  • A 25-yard pool with six lap lanes
  • Water depths ranging from shallow to deep water
  • A designated springboard diving area
  • Flexible lane configurations to support multiple uses

Accessibility & Safety Features

The Natatorium is designed to provide safe and inclusive access for participants of all experience levels.

Safety and accessibility features include:

  • An ADA-accessible pool lift
  • Clearly marked depth changes throughout the pool
  • Lifeguard-supervised swim times during open and program hours

Supporting Spaces & Amenities

Additional spaces support participant comfort and program operations.

Amenities include:

  • Locker rooms located nearby within the Preston Center
  • Deck seating for participants and observers during programs

Shared-Use Facility Notice

The Natatorium serves multiple programs throughout the day. Pool configuration, lane availability, and access to certain areas may vary based on scheduled activities, lessons, or special events.
