SGA Signature Services

The Student Government Association at Western Kentucky University is committed to addressing student concerns and providing quality, signature services for students on the Hill.  Below, you will find a list of all of our signature services.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.

Each fall, WKU officials and SGA representatives tour the campus in search of locations needing safety improvements.

Now an SGA tradition, Blue Books and Scantrons are available for free in the SGA office.

The Student Senate commonly provides funding in order to extend the operating hours of the library during the week of final examinations each semester.

WKU SGA recognizes that identification cards are a necessary item that all students of Western Kentucky University need to possess to take advantage of requirements from professors, meal plans, and to enter residence halls. As such, our ID Voucher Program will partially cover the cost of 20 student identification cards, discounting $10 off the total WKU ID price of $25. These vouchers will be available to students who have never lost their WKU ID before.

WKU SGA has partnered with the WKU Dental Hygiene program to provide free dental cleaning for any student. These cleanings are performed by our very own WKU Dental Hygiene students. 24 students in the fall and 48 students in the spring will be able to benefit from this initiative. Stop by the SGA office to receive your free dental cleaning voucher today!

Each Tuesday, any WKU student can address the Student Senate during the Special Orders portion of the meeting. According to the SGA Bylaws, "Any student of the University who has a matter to bring before the Senate shall be allowed to speak at this time for no longer than ten minutes."

SGA annually provides $20,000 for campus organizations. Each organization can apply for up to $500.

This year, the Director of Enrollment and Student Experience and Executive Cabinet have allotted $23,000 for scholarships for the student body. Students will be eligible to apply for study abroad and research conference scholarships.
