The School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) Living Learning Community provides a residential environment for first year students that fosters peer networking and academic success for students who are majoring in any of the nine undergraduate programs in SEAS through the Ogden College of Science and Engineering.

Satisfies major and general education requirements

 

Fall Semester

SEAS 175    Freshmen Experience I    1 Hour

For beginning college freshmen or transfer students with fewer than 24 semester hours of credit. Transition to university experience for School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) students. Topics include time management skills, critical thinking, exploration of SEAS majors and careers, campus resources, effective teamwork skills, and an introduction to the design process and project management.

Restriction(s): Students with a semester level of Junior, Sophomore or Senior may not enroll.

Enrollment is limited to students in Land Surveying (1700) , Floodplain Management (1763) , Manufacturing Engineering Tech (5006) , Engineering Technology Mgmt (5007) , Architectural Science (518) , Construction Management (533) , Civil Engineering (534) , Civil Engineering-Prep (534P) , Electrical Engineering (537) , Electrical Engineering-Prep (537P) , Mechanical Engineering (543) , Mechanical Engineering-Prep (543P) , Computer Information Tech (555) , Computer Information Tech-prep (555P) , Computer Science (629) or Computer Science-Prep (629P)

Spring Semester

For Architectural Science, Civil Engineering, and Construction Management Majors:

AS 163    Architectural Drafting    3 Hours

An introductory course using sketching and CADD software to teach orthographic projection, isometric projection, sections, dimensioning, and 3D modeling. This course designed for majors in the Architectural Sciences Concentration, Interior Design, Civil Engineering, Geography and Textiles.

For Computer Information Technology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, and Mechanical Engineering Majors: will take next major course in their sequence together. 

I am grateful for the connections and friends I have made during this semester through my LLC. Everyone is so nice and we are able to work on things together since we have most of the same classes. Being able to connect with people with the same major is amazing.
