Step 3
Not sure which program you'll attend yet? That's okay!
Submitting the student support application helps us estimate how many students are planning to participate in summer language programs. You don’t need to have your program confirmed to apply — just let us know you're planning to go!
Step 4
If you're participating in an overseas summer program, you must submit a Study Abroad application through WKU Global so they can provide insurance coverage and process your program fees.
Q&A
Applications are evaluated based on several factors, including:
-
Your pre-summer program Chinese language test results
-
Your demonstrated commitment, maturity, and potential to complete the program
-
Your overall GPA in Chinese language courses
-
Whether you submit your application on time
-
Your financial need
No, student support is not guaranteed. It is awarded based on factors such as funding availability, your eligibility, and your commitment to successfully complete the program.
The amount of student support awarded varies, with a maximum of $10,000 for overseas programs and $5,000 for domestic programs. The actual award for each student depends on several factors, including:
-
The total number of students applying for summer programs that year
-
The amount of funding available for student support
-
Each student’s potential and commitment to successfully pass the Pre-Capstone exam and complete the Capstone Year
We aim to distribute Flagship student support as soon as the funds are available. While there isn’t a fixed date each year, we make every effort to ensure students receive their support as quickly as possible.
You will receive an official notification via email from the Flagship office once your support has been approved.
That’s awesome! The more scholarships you receive, the better. Please note that Flagship student support cannot exceed the total cost of your summer program.
