Eligibility and Application

Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

No prior knowledge of Chinese required.

Compatible with most majors.

Strive to attain Superior-level Chinese by completing required coursework, participating in program extracurricular activities, maintaining strong academic standing, and completing both a summer abroad program and the Capstone year abroad.

Students must complete a Capstone Year in Taipei, Taiwan, or Monterey, California, to graduate from the Flagship Program.

Because of safety and security policies, students who are dual citizens with Taiwan are ineligible for the program.
Before submitting your application to the WKU Chinese Flagship Program, please ensure
that you have already applied to WKU.
We strongly encourage all Flagship students to apply to the Honors College to access additional scholarship opportunities.
