CHHS faculty member to join panel on leadership in senior living and aging services

Melanie Eaton, Instructor in the Department of Public Health in the WKU College of Health and Human Services (CHHS), will be a featured panelist in an upcoming national webinar titled “Strengthening the Pipeline: University Innovation in Senior Living Leadership Education.”
Hosted by Vision Centre, the webinar will take place on October 1, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. CST, and will feature academic leaders from across the country who are advancing leadership education in the field of senior living.
As the demand for leadership in senior care continues to grow, this live event will highlight several university examples and lessons learned. According to Vision Centre, the panel will share approaches and resources to strengthen and expand leadership programs in senior living and aging services. Participants will leave with practical ideas and tools to grow their own programs.
The webinar will be moderated by Dr. Nancy Swanger, Founding Director of the Granger Cobb Institute for Senior Living at Washington State University.
Joining Melanie Eaton on the panel are:
- Dr. Thomas Pakov, Chair, School of Family and Consumer Sciences, Northern Illinois University
- Dr. Rajean Moore, Faculty Director, Long-Term Care Administration, University of Minnesota
- Bob Thomas, Director, Healthcare Administration Program, College of Business, George Fox University
Melanie has been an instructor in CHHS since 2013, where she teaches in the Health Care Administration program. The Department of Public Health offers a Bachelor of Science program in Health Care Administration. This program prepares students for management and administrative positions in various types of healthcare facilities, organizations, and agencies, such as hospitals, nursing homes, group medical practices, health maintenance organizations, public health agencies, and clinics. This program will also prepare individuals to work in medical sales companies, health planning agencies, the insurance sector, and other related health organizations.
