Who Are We?

Alpha Epsilon Delta is an international honor society for pre-health professional students.  The mission of the society is to encourage and recognize excellence in pre-health scholarship; to stimulate an appreciation of the importance of pre-health education; to promote communication between health professionals and pre-health students and educators; to provide a forum for students with common interests; and to use its resources to benefit health organizations, charities, and the community.

Alpha Epsilon Delta sponsors health profession lectures, volunteer observation programs, social events, blood drives and other service events to achieve our purpose as well as hosts an annual Health Professions Showcase. We feel that contact with other pre-professional students, both scholastically and socially, is an important part of a student's preparation for professional school.

How To Join

Active Membership

Membership in AED is an honor bestowed upon a student in recognition of superior scholastic achievement and affords an opportunity to develop initiative, leadership, and self-education through participation in the activities of the chapter and society.  To be eligible to join AED, one must have 45 hours of credit with a grade point average of 3.2 in the sciences and 3.2 overall.  We strongly encourage students who have not yet met the requirements for membership to attend meetings and take advantage of what AED has to offer. To apply to be a full member, please contact Lillian Partin. (Email: lillian.partin454@topper.wku.edu)

Jr. Active Membership

If you do not currently have 45 credit hours, but are still interested in participating in AED, you should consider applying to be a Jr. Active Member. The Junior Active Membership is for pre-professional students who wish to join Alpha Epsilon Delta, but DO NOT meet the national requirement of 45 completed college hours (the AED National Office does not recognize Junior Active Members). However, Junior Active Members reap the same benefits of Active Members. Likewise, Junior Active Members are held to the same academic standards and participation requirements. To apply to be a Jr. Active Member, please contact Emma Morrison. (Email: emma.morrison187@topper.wku.edu)
