AHEC Connect
AHEC Connect is a three-month mentorship program that matches undergraduate pre-health professional students with current students currently enrolled in professional school. Throughout the program, mentees gain insight from conversations with mentors, while current professional school students get to share their knowledge and experience to pre-students. This free program requires minimal time commitment but yields impactful results.
Any current professional school student is welcome to apply to be a mentor. Throughout the program, mentors will be expected to contact their mentee by phone at least once per month for the duration of the program. Topics are provided to the mentors to help guide conversations; however, mentors can use their discretion in conversations as long as communications are appropriate, helpful, and honest. Mentors should expect to spend approximately one-hour per month communicating with their mentee. Phone meeting times are mutually determined by mentors and mentees.
Any current undergraduate with a pre-health profession concentration is welcome to apply to be a mentee. Mentees will be contacted by their mentor the
February, March, and April for conversations via phone or Zoom. Meeting times are
mutually determined by mentors and mentees. Mentees agree to fully participate, ask
questions, and be ready to learn. AHEC Connect is open to pre-med students throughout
the South Central Kentucky service area, including Campbellsville University, Lindsey
Wilson College, and Western Kentucky University.
