What is expected of an awardee?

(further details will be provided upon award)

  • Students must present/participate during WKU’s annual Student Scholar Showcase
  • In addition to Student Scholar Showcase, students are required to present their work (such as a poster, talk, performance, or exhibit) at a national or regional conference, or at another appropriate venue of similar standing. Virtual conferences do not meet this requirement. Also, on-campus events do not meet this requirement unless they are part of a national or regional event officially hosted by WKU. If you are unsure whether an event qualifies, please contact fuse@wku.edu  for prior approval.
  • Faculty mentor should submit publication(s), with appropriate authorship, based on the work
  • Students are encouraged to attend an Office of Scholar Development workshop and discuss external scholarship options
  • Complete the final report in SPIRIT.
