Lodging & Accommodations 

Parent & Family Weekend will be an exciting time in Bowling Green, KY. If overnight accommodations are necessary, we recommend making reservations early. 

Directions & Parking

WKU is located in southcentral Kentucky, easily accessible from I-65 and the Natcher Parkway. Parent & Family Weekend parking for family and friends will be available in our parking structures. See Directions to Campus and Parking Information.

Accessibility

Parent & Family Weekend is well-attended, and those with mobility or health issues will have accessibility to the various activities. Disability accommodations may be made for parking and seating. Learn More

DIRECTIONS FROM NORTH AND SOUTH I-65

  1. Take Exit 26 off of Interstate 65.

  2. Turn toward Bowling Green onto Cemetery Road.

  3. Continue straight for three miles. Cemetery Road becomes Fairview Avenue. Continue going straight across 31-W Bypass. You will pass a fire station on your left. After passing the fire station, go through one traffic light and a stop sign, then turn left at the second stop sign onto College Street (this is a one-way street).

  4. Stay on College Street through downtown Bowling Green and continue until you reach the top of the hill. College Street will dead-end at College Heights Boulevard at a statue of Henry Hardin Cherry. Turn right onto College Heights Boulevard at the stop sign and stay in the right-hand lane.

  5.  The next stop sign is College Heights Blvd. Turn right.

  6. Turn left at the traffic light onto University Blvd.

 

IF YOU ARE TRAVELING ON US 165 (from Owensboro):

  1. Take Exit 7 (previously Exit 5) off US 165 (William Natcher Parkway) for US-68.

  2. Turn left off the exit ramp.

  3. You will travel approximately 2 miles, go under a train trestle, and come to a stop light at University Boulevard.

  4. Turn left on University Boulevard.

On Saturday, September 20, the WKU Hilltoppers will host the Nevado in a home football game with a 6:00 PM kick-off!

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 19

Many campus events will be occurring on Friday, September 19.  

  • Beginning at 7:00 a.m., the Clinical Services Lot, a portion of the South Lawn Lot, Normal Hall Lot, Mimosa Lot, Regents Hall Lot, and Parking Structure 2 will be reserved for the Amy and David Chandler Hall Gordon Ford College of Business dedication.  
  • Public Parking Pay Lots are located on Regents Drive, PFT Loop, Chestnut Street North, and Diddle South Visitor Lots.  For more information, please see Visitor Parking. 
  • Many lots are available without a parking permit after 4:30 PM on Friday. View Evening Parking Map

 

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 20

Everything you need to know for game day, including the clear bag policy, code of conduct, concessions, lost and found, parking, recycling, shuttle service, South Lawn usage, stadium entry, student tickets, tailgating, and general tickets.

 

WEAR RED!

 

If you plan to set up your own tailgating tent, please note that Upper South Lawn (by DSU) is reserved. The area by Guthrie Bell Tower and Chandler Hall is reserved for the official Parent & Family Weekend tailgating tent and food trucks. Please avoid any roped off areas and do not set up on walkways or emergency lanes. Space is first come, first serve. Tents can be placed after 3:00 p.m. on Friday, September 19. Tailgating is open 8:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 20.
