Five WKU students have earned Boren Scholarships of up to $20,000 to fund up to a year of critical language-focused study abroad.

Nine WKU students were awarded Critical Language Scholarships that fully fund summer study in intensive language programs abroad. Six others were named alternates and may be upgraded as additional funding becomes available.

Andrea Day, a junior international affairs and Arabic major, has been awarded a Fund for Education Abroad (FEA) scholarship to study in Jordan in summer 2019.

Deven Richardson of Bowling Green has been selected as a 2019 Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Graduate Fellow. He will receive $37,500 annually for a two-year graduate degree and paid internships in the U.S. Congress and embassies abroad

The 2018-19 academic year marks the tenth year since the Office of Scholar Development at Western Kentucky University was created. Since 2008, OSD has helped WKU students and alumni earn recognition more than 450 times and more than $4.8 million.
