Catalyst Cohort in the Mahurin Honors College (MHC)
Note: Due to organizational changes in the Office of Scholar Development, the Catalyst
Cohort in the Mahurin Honors College is paused for the 2025-2026 academic year. Any
updates will be posted on this website.
Beginning with its first cohort of first-year scholars Fall 2024, the Catalyst Cohort
offers a for-credit early support program for first-generation, Pell Grant-eligible,
and/or minority students in the Mahurin Honors College.
Catalyst Cohort scholars earn credit toward the Mahurin Honors College curriculum through mentored processes to identify interests, chart pathways to relevant research, and evaluate study abroad options. Scholars who successfully complete the program unlock guaranteed funding to turn possibilities into plans.
Funded by the WKU Sisterhood and powered by the Office of Scholar Development at WKU, the Catalyst Cohort in the Mahurin Honors College is an interdepartmental investment in high-potential students interested in elevating their undergraduate education toward expanded postgraduate options.
