Save the Date & Call for Session Hosts – Take a Child to Work Day 2026

We are excited to announce Take a Child to Work Day (TACTWD). Take a Child to Work Day is part of a national initiative designed to be more than just a career day. “Take a Child to Work Day exists to bridge the gap between education and the workplace, providing young people with invaluable, hands-on experiences that help them envision their futures in meaningful ways. It’s about empowering a generation to take bold steps toward their dreams and fostering the confidence and resilience they need to succeed.”

Please save the date for Thursday, April 23, 2026. TACTWD is a campus-wide event for the children and grandchildren, grades 2–12, of WKU employees.

We are looking for campus departments, colleges, and organizations to host fun, hands-on, and interactive educational experiences that highlight our campus. Both morning and afternoon time slots are available in 30-minute or 90-minute increments. Some examples from years past include, Medical Skills, Slime Time and 3, 2, 1, Action! Any program that showcases our campus is welcome. A special thank you to our past session hosts—we hope you will participate again this year.

If you would like to host a session, please complete the proposal form by Friday, March 6: 2026 Take a Child to Work Day Session Proposal Form. Our high school program will also continue in 2026, and the option to host a high school session is available on the form.

Student registration will begin after sessions are confirmed!
