Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for communication with vendors who provide supplies and equipment to campus
• Enforces WKU policies, procedures and work standards to ensure adequate performance and personnel safety, and reports all disciplinary conflicts to the Manager of Fiscal Services
• Inspects completed work to ensure conformance to our operating standards
• Schedules work depending on work priorities, staff, or equipment availability, or weather conditions
• Ensures stock (both maintenance & janitorial supplies) is ordered, received, checked in, unpacked, stocked and recorded utilizing the current CMMS program.
• Ensuring CMMS Inventory module is accurate and up-to-date with costs and accurate inventory information.
• Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock, and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors
• Checks out supplies to Facilities Management maintenance employees
• Coordinates uniform ordering with Business Operations Manager on an annual basis and ensures distribution of uniforms to Facilities Management team members
• Coordinates with purchasing and DFM staff  on supplies and orders
• Responsible for and participates in the Stockroom end of the year inventory each year
• Responsible for issuing and securing  DFM credit cards, logging procurement card purchases into DFM work order system, and providing backup for reconciliation of credit cards with University credit card procedures
• Responsible for filing and maintaining paperwork for all completed purchases made by DFM
• Monitors project activities to ensure that instructions are followed, deadlines are met, and schedules are maintained
• Trains employees in all tasks & equipment necessary to perform their jobs to operating standards and provides employees with assistance in performing duties as necessary to meet deadlines
• Reviews time sheets for accuracy & adherence to the DFM attendance policy
• Performs computer work such as emails, spreadsheets, word processing, internet parts research, intranet human resource functions, evaluations, memos, etc.
• Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities
• Operates University vehicles

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities

• Directs activities of stockroom staff to receive, store, and issue supplies and equipment, keep inventory records, and provide exceptional customer service for the Department of Facilities Management stockroom
• Assists Manager with financial reporting, monitoring expenses, and auditing the staff and inventory control process
• Maintains excellent communication/customer service with Building Coordinators to ensure client satisfaction and that employees are demonstrating respect, hospitality, and quality service
• Communicates bi-laterally with other supervisors within DFM to ensure that services are provided in an efficient and timely manner and on ordering and delivery status of supplies

Purpose of Position

Under general supervision of the Manager of Plant Operations, the HVAC Technician performs skilled work at the experienced trade level in the maintenance and repair of refrigeration, air conditioning, heating, and air handling equipment.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Testing electrical circuits or components for continuity, using electrical test equipment
• Testing pipe or tubing joints or connections for leaks
• Installs/repairs control valves, motors, actuators, and associated air handler equipment
• Troubleshoots and dismantles malfunctioning system components using electrical, mechanical and pneumatic testing equipment
• Repairs and replaces defective equipment, components or wiring
• Installs, connects and adjusts thermostats, humidistats and timers
• Inspects and tests systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions
• Adjusts valves according to specifications and charges system with proper type of refrigerant
• Braze or solder parts to repair defective joints and leaks
• Perform mechanical overhauls and refrigerant reclaiming
• Maintains campus air handling equipment, chillers and ice machines
• Maintains refrigerant records and associated documentation

• Maintains excellent communication/customer service with Building Coordinators and all other DFM Supervisors
• Communicates bi-laterally with other supervisors within DFM to coordinate work activities between groups

  • Successfully completed  a 1-2 year program of instruction for refrigeration and air conditioning at an accredited vocational/technical school
  • Possess a current KY Journeyman HVAC license
• Current EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Attend trainings or Training of Trainers to learn how to present preservice and mandatory trainings for foster parents as scheduled by region or Training Branch.
• Partner with R&C team to determine which scheduled preservice or mandatory training you are available to help train.
• Maintain regular communication with the regional R&C team regarding training schedule/needs.
• Strategically share your experience using the skills/knowledge presented in a training as a foster/adoptive parent.
• Defer to R&C team for responses to questions regarding policy during training.
• Work up to 80 hours per month and document this time on a biweekly timesheet.  Failure to submit the timesheet in a timely manner will result in lack of or delay in pay.
• Stay up-to-date with timesheets and reimbursement paperwork.
• Communicate any training needs or supports to coordinator.

• One year DCBS experience with foster/adoptive children.  Applicants from Private Child Care providers may be considered if they meet all other requirements and have adopted from Kentucky's foster care system and thus are an approved DCBS adoptive parent.
• Current foster and/or adoptive parent in good standing with DBCS.
