Asian Studies Major, Minor
The Asian Studies program at WKU is interdisciplinary, drawing on a wide range of fields including Religious Studies, History, Geography, Modern Languages, Political Science, Anthropology, Art, and others. The major equips students to understand Asia and its peoples, including their languages, religions, cultures, history, and politics. It provides students with an understanding of the Asian past and the knowledge to put current issues and problems into broader historical, religious, cultural, and political contexts. The flexible program pairs well with many majors to advance students' academic and professional goals.
The Asian Studies major requires 30 hours, with 6 hours in Religion; 6 hours in Language; 6 hours in History and Politics; 9 hours of Electives, with options in Art, Anthropology, Geography, Religion, Language, History, and Politics; and 3 hours of senior seminar.

My favorite class in the program has been History of Yoga. I think that the teaching style of this course is really effective in addressing yoga's complex history and why the practice looks the way it does today.
