About the Film: "Curveballs"

"Curveballs" tells the incredible story of the world's first and only amputee baseball team, The Louisville Slugger Warriors. Comprising amputee players, many of whom lost limbs while serving to protect our country, the Warriors compete against other able-bodied teams and often emerge victorious. Shot in the heart of Southwest Florida, this film encapsulates their stories of resilience and unity, portraying how they, as former veterans and those born with limb differences, navigate life's unexpected curveballs.

Under the direction of multi-Emmy award-winning director John Biffar, "Curveballs" is a testament to the power of the human spirit. The film has already been featured in WINK, News-Press, NBC, Naples Daily News, SWFL Fresh Press, Florida Weekly, and more.

Meet the Warriors

A 501(c)(3) non-profit team of U.S. Military Veterans, Wounded Warriors, and competitive amputee athletes.

"This team means a lot more to me than just playing baseball. I get a chance to play baseball at an elevated level alongside brothers that have fought a lot of the same physical and mental battles as I have.”

Carlo Adame, U.S. Army Veteran

"I hope we can be a source of inspiration to others who are dealing with challenges in their lives and show them that you really can do anything you set your mind to, even without being ‘normal'."

Colton DeRocher, LS Warriors Player

"Go out there and show the world that there isn’t anyone perfect way to play the game, you can play it in your own way and play it just as well as anyone/anywhere."

Jim Abbott, Former MLB Pitcher
