Student Life at The Gatton Academy

overview

Student Life at The Gatton Academy is a community grounded in the core values of Integrity, Compassion, and Respect. Residential Life at The Gatton Academy is structured to ensure student safety and well-being through intentional supervision, encouraging mentorship, and engaging activities. Within this environment, students are supported in their personal growth while developing five essential skills: Accountability, Collaboration, Community Impact, Self-Discipline, and a Growth Mindset. This supportive community offers opportunities where lifelong friendships and meaningful growth can thrive.

Gatton has eight, full-time Residential Counselors (RCs) who live in Florence Schneider Hall and each supervise a residential wing of 20-30 students. RCs provide 1-on-1 mentorship, conduct nightly curfew, host engaging activities, and support students’ residential needs. The RCs provide transportation for students with Bowling Green for medical appointments, class commitments, community service volunteering, and a weekly shopping shuttle. The RC is a student or family’s first point of contact for any concerns regarding a student’s adjustment to life at The Gatton Academy.
