Assistant Provost for Accreditation and Assessment
- Tuesday, July 15th, 2025
Dear Colleagues,
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Rheanna Plemons as the new Assistant Provost for Accreditation and Assessment at Western Kentucky University. Dr. Plemons has twenty years of experience in higher education, including roles as Assistant/Associate Registrar, Interim Registrar, and Special Assistant to the Provost with work on curriculum, new programs, accreditation, and more. Since 2021, she has been a Pedagogical Assistant Professor in Organizational Leadership where she has taught a variety of courses with topics such as leadership theory and application, leadership in global contexts, leading change, leading teams, and ethics and decision-making. An outstanding academic leader, Dr. Plemons has worked extensively to help improve curricular processes, to support and help guide the transition to Courseleaf, to create clear guidance for WKU's curriculum processes, to improve Council on Post-secondary Education protocols, and to clarify SACSCOC requirements for WKU constituents. She was a significant partner as WKU navigated SACSCOC reaffirmation this year. Her recent work as an assistant professor has given her a valuable perspective that complements her work as a staff member that will help her support all members of the WKU community even more effectively.
Throughout her career, Dr. Plemons has prioritized integrity, strategic collaboration, and transparency with a commitment to fostering a culture of academic excellence, accountability, and meaningful reflection to support institutional goals and student success. These values along with her track record of success and the strong relationships she has established across campus position her to build on the work of her predecessors to take WKU to an even higher level. Please join us in congratulating Dr. Plemons on her new role as Assistant Provost for Accreditation and Assessment.
Sincerely,
Bud Fischer
