A native of Roanoke, VA, David fell in love with weather at a young age. He graduated from Mississippi State University with an MS in Geoscience and a concentration in Broadcast Meteorology. Shortly before graduating in 2011, he had firsthand experience during the aftermath of the April 27 Super Outlook. Seeing the human side of a devastating tornado event made it obvious that weather broadcasters still serve a critical role in keeping people safe during severe weather. David also had the opportunity to be part of a two-week storm chase through the Great Plains in 2010. His group captured several tornadoes, including an EF-4 tornado that passed by the small town of Bowdle, SD. As a professional broadcast meteorologist, David has worked in Mississippi, Texas, Pennsylvania, and now Kentucky. He has covered many severe weather events, but one of the most memorable was the Christmas Day snowstorm of 2017 that buried Erie, PA in nearly 4 feet of snow in just 2 days.
Fun fact, David once played comedian Tom Segura in a charity basketball game.
