Alumni Voices: PCAL 60th Anniversary Oral History Project

Students in Professor Ann Ferrell’s fall 2025 Oral History class conducted interviews with alumni of their academic programs, including Folk Studies, Anthropology, Sociology, History, Art, Art History, and Music. Alumni were asked about their memories of their time as PCAL students, the influence of PCAL programs on their lives and careers, and their advice to current and prospective students. The students transcribed the interviews and chose clips to share, with the permission of the alumni. This project celebrates 60 years of PCAL and gave the students the opportunity to learn about careers in their fields. The full project will be archived in the Folklife Archives, Special Collections Library at Western Kentucky University.
