Gatton Academy Students Earn National Recognition in Russian Essay Competition

On November 21, 2025, eight students from the Gatton Academy participated in the Forty-Fourth Annual National Russian Essay Contest organized by ACTR (the American Council of Teachers of Russian). A total of 606 students from across the country took part in this prestigious national competition.
The essay topic was “My School,” and the submissions were written in Russian by students enrolled in Russian 202.
The results were released on February 26, 2026. We are proud to announce that all eight participating students received national recognition: four earned Gold Medals and four earned Silver Medals.
