WKU Forensics recently opened its season competing at two policy debate tournaments hosted by Northwestern University and Missouri State University. Policy debate is a two on two team competition on the topic: The United States federal government should substantially strengthen collective bargaining rights for workers in the United States.
WKU shined at the competition. Junior Nik Schintgen of Lansing, Kansas and senior Joshua St-Peter of Canton, Georgia earned a Top 8 finish at the Missouri State tournament. Senior Kole Ingram of Hindman, Kentucky and Junior Chase Shockley of Carthage Missouri finished in the Top 10.
WKU improved its record at the Northwestern tournament in comparison to last season, logging preliminary round wins against students from institutions like Dartmouth, Cornell, Southern California and the University of Kansas.
WKU Forensics will open its Lincoln-Douglas debate season this weekend at a tournament hosted by Washburn University.
