“Heroes on The Hill” Happening October 10 and 11
- Friday, September 12th, 2025
It’s nearly time for an incredible event! In just under a month, WKU will welcome the Louisville Slugger Warriors, the nation’s first and only competitive amputee baseball team, to the Hill for a powerful two-day event celebrating courage, perseverance, and the love of America’s pastime.
WKU’s Baseball team, the Army ROTC program, the university’s Military Student Services office, and the Mary E. Hensley Lecture Series are joining forces to bring this unique experience to campus. It will be an autumn weekend to remember!
Friday, October 10 – Documentary Screening & Q&A
The weekend kicks off with an exclusive screening of Curveballs… Secrets to the Game of Life, a new documentary highlighting the Warriors’ extraordinary stories. Each player has faced life-changing challenges, including combat injuries, accidents, or congenital conditions, yet continues to prove that neither the game, nor the human spirit, has limits. A Q&A with team members will follow. Due to popular demand, we have moved this event to the DSU Auditorium.
