WKU President delivers Convocation address

Today, Western Kentucky University President Timothy C. Caboni officially launched the university’s 119th academic year during the annual Faculty and Staff Convocation. Held in Van Meter Auditorium, Convocation brings together faculty, staff and university leadership to reflect on the accomplishments of the past year and highlight the work ahead.
In his address, President Caboni celebrated key milestones and successes from the 2024–2025 academic year, recognizing the hard work and dedication of the WKU community. He also outlined a number of strategic priorities and new initiatives that will shape the university’s future, reinforcing WKU’s ongoing commitment to student success, academic excellence and community engagement.
President Caboni also announced this year’s Spirit of WKU Award winner, Bryson Davis, who serves as the university’s Director of Student Financial Assistance. The award honors faculty and staff members who embody the essence of WKU’s motto, “The Spirit Makes the Master.” Recipients are recognized for their enthusiasm for WKU, deep loyalty to the institution and commitment to student support and campus engagement.
