June 24, 2025 (Bowling Green, KY) – This study, titled Can AI Generate Questions Aligned with Bloom's Taxonomy? A Framework for Gifted Education to Support Teachers, explores the capability of artificial intelligence tools to generate questions aligned with Bloom's Revised Taxonomy to support educators. Fifteen gifted education experts evaluated the AI- and human-generated questions for alignment with Bloom's Taxonomy. Findings show that AI-generated questions align well with lower-order cognitive tasks and remain consistent across subjects.

When asked for his thoughts on the publication, Tyler Clark, Ed.D. stated, “Our findings suggest promise with using AI to support teachers with differentiating instruction using Bloom’s taxonomy. We must look at AI as a tool to support teachers and not replace their professional expertise.”

Although results indicated that AI can assist educators in reducing workload and improving differentiated instruction by generating questions aligned with Bloom's Taxonomy, professional development remains essential for supporting educators.

About Hasan Akdeniz
Hasan Akdeniz, Ph.D., served as a postdoctoral researcher at The Center from 2022-2024. Dr. Akdeniz is a dedicated and innovative leader in gifted education, educational technology, and curriculum development. With more than 15 years of experience as an educator, researcher, curriculum director, and national coordinator for gifted teachers within the Ministry of National Education, Dr. Akdeniz has been at the forefront of advancing education for gifted and talented students. He spearheaded impactful initiatives during his tenure, including launching EduResearchLab, a platform that fosters creativity, research, project management, and consultancy in gifted education. His expertise bridges biology, neurobiology, neuroscience, and educational psychology, enabling him to craft curricula and learning experiences that inspire critical thinking, creativity, and innovation.

About Tyler Clark
Tyler Clark, Ed.D., is the Assistant Director of Operations at The Center for Gifted Studies and the Executive Administrator at the World Council for Gifted and Talented Children. He also teaches graduate courses in gifted education. Dr. Clark currently serves on the Leadership Development Committee for the National Association for Gifted Children and will assume the role of Chair of the Annual Fund Committee in the fall. Dr. Clark is also active in the Kentucky Association for Gifted Education, providing volunteer support including in the headquarters and during conferences and workshops. His research interests include topics in higher education, specifically related to honors education, leadership, gifted education, and talent development, specifically policy, creativity, social-emotional aspects, and underrepresentation issues; and mathematics education. He presents at the state, national, and international levels. With Julia Link Roberts, he is the co-editor of International Perspectives on Acceleration in Gifted Education.

Dr. Roberts is the Executive Director of The Center for Gifted Studies and The Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science. She is a member of the faculty at the School of Teacher Education, and she is a WKU Distinguished Professor. Dr. Roberts serves on the boards of The Association for The Gifted (a division of the Council for Exceptional Children), the Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence, the Kentucky Association for Gifted Education, and Aviation Heritage Park and Museum. She is the immediate past president of the World Council for Gifted and Talented Children.
