• Utilize ticketing software for documentation, work assignment, and knowledge base updates.
• Contribute to strategic planning for university-wide hardware and software deployment policies.

The Department of Chemistry at WKU invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-eligible appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in all areas of Analytical Chemistry or Biochemistry starting August 2026.

The Department of Chemistry engages students at graduate (MS) and undergraduate levels, including the involvement of students from The Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science, a nationally renowned residential high school. • Provide education related to NCAA and Conference USA legislation to student-athletes, coaches, and staff in the areas of personnel, amateurism, recruiting, eligibility, financial aid, awards/benefits, and playing/practice seasons
• Collect data and submit reports to the NCAA related to APR, demographics, and revenue distribution.
• Compile and submit waivers and violations to the NCAA and Conference USA.
• Supervise multiple staff members, both full-time and part-time.
• Supervise complimentary admission process for student-athletes and prospects for all home football and basketball contests
• Occasional travel to assist in complimentary admission process for away-from-campus football contests.
• Review and sign off on recruiting travel reimbursements for coaches.
• Coordinate coaches and sport programs needs to the Student Athletic Success Center staff
• Assist Coaches with development of sport scholarship plan and associated budget

Knowledge and Skills Considered Essential for Success:

• Experience with NCAA waivers, monitoring, and international student eligibility.
• Experience working with NCAA Eligibility Center and Compliance Assistant.
• Understanding of NIL and Revenue share legislation
• Working knowledge of NCAA rules, LSDBi and CA software.

• Sport administrator experience

The Research Methods program situated in SLPS seeks a dynamic Assistant or Associate Professor to join our faculty and contribute to excellence in graduate education and research in an applied research setting. This position offers an opportunity to shape the next generation of practitioner scholars and researchers through innovative teaching and meaningful research contributions in qualitative methodology. The successful candidate will have an established and proven record of research with an emphasis on the use of qualitative methods in applied research settings. This is a traditional tenure-eligible position with responsibilities in teaching, research and service.

• Terminal degree (PhD or EdD) in School Psychology, Leadership, Organizational Leadership, Human and Organizational Learning, Education, Educational Leadership/Administration, or closely related field (ABDs will not be considered)

  • 18 credit hours of graduate-level research methods coursework, with at least 6 credit hours in qualitative methods; OR
  • Three years of experience teaching graduate-level research methods courses in qualitative methods and/or research design in a college or university setting (minimum of 36 credit hours taught)

Demonstrated expertise in qualitative research methods in one or more of the following qualitative areas, including but not limited to:

• Phenomenological research
• Grounded theory
• Case study methodology
• Ethnographic approaches
• Narrative inquiry
• Mixed methods research design

Evidence of scholarly productivity in research methods or related fields
Experience with qualitative data analysis software (e.g., NVivo, ATLAS.ti, MAXQDA)

Associate Professor Qualifications

In addition to the minimal requirements for Assistant Professor, an offer at the Associate Professor rank will require:

• A minimum of five (5) years full-time research methods teaching experience with a documented record of excellence.
• A minimum of three (3) peer reviewed publications as primary or secondary author highlighting qualitative methodologies; or, two (2) peer reviewed publications as primary or second author highlighting qualitative methodologies with externally funded grant activity as PI or co-PI (minimum grant award $500,000).

The Carol Martin Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science in Kentucky seeks qualified candidates for the position of Overnight Desk Attendant. The Gatton Academy is a public residential STEM program established and funded by the Kentucky legislature. It is located on the campus of Western Kentucky University. Students complete their last two years of high school in the program while earning at least 60 hours of college credit. This is a 10-month part-time position with a possible extension into the summer that reports to the Assistant Director of Residential Life. Gatton Academy staff are employees of WKU.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

The following duties are customary for this position but are not to be construed as all-inclusive.  Duties may be added, deleted, and assigned based on management discretion and institutional needs.

• Monitor the residential lobby and desk between the hours of 11:00pm to 7:00am, remaining awake and alert for the duration of the shift
• Perform rounds of Gatton Academy common spaces every two hours
• Welcome and assist students, family members, and visitors of The Gatton Academy
• Check IDs of visitors and individuals signing out students against the program's records
• Record students checking into and out of the program
• Answer the Gatton Academy residential desk phone and accurately direct messages to appropriate staff members
• Follow established response plans in the event of emergency or concerning activity
• Communicate via email and telephone with various Gatton Academy stakeholders
• Provide exceptional customer service
• Clerical support (file preparation, sorting, researching, etc.)
• Other duties as assigned

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

• The ability to maintain confidentiality regarding protected student data, including enrollment information, pharmaceutical deliveries, and medical documentation
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

• Availability for WKU's Fall and Spring semesters and a five-week Summer Camp
