We are excited to partner with TRIO SSS, TRIO SSS-D, FirstToppers, and the Student Accessibility Ambassadors to present the very first First-Generation Student Leadership Conference at WKU!

First-generation college students bring determination, resilience, and unique perspectives to campus, but too often, they face challenges navigating higher education alone. The WKU First-Generation Leadership Conference was created to change that. This conference exists to celebrate, support, and empower first-gen students by providing access to thetools, knowledge, and networks that drive success. We believe first-generation students don’t just belong in higher education, they have the power to transform it.

The top 20 students who complete the most F1rstGen activities (activities included in the linked set) during this semester will each earn a $250 completion award!

Note: In the event of a tie, overall Suitable point totals will be used to determine the top twenty. 

Through the generosity of the WKU Sisterhood we are able to double the number of semester awards from 10 to 20!

This drop-in event is a great chance to connect, share stories, and build meaningful relationships. Whether you stay for the whole time or just stop by, you’ll have the opportunity to expand your social, academic, and professional network—you may even meet your next mentor!
