'To the Hill and Beyond' theme announced for Homecoming 2018

The WKU Alumni Association announced Thursday (Aug. 2) that the 2018 Homecoming festivities will be celebrated with a Toy Story-like To the Hill and Beyond theme, which was chosen by a committee of WKU alumni, students and staff.
“To the Hill and Beyond is a fun and colorful theme for all members of the WKU Family,” said Ginny Hensley, WKU’s Director of Alumni Engagement. “Our student body grew up watching Disney’s Toy Story movies, and I expect that Big Red will impersonate Buzz Lightyear many times throughout Homecoming Week.”
The Hilltoppers will face Florida International University in the Homecoming football game Oct. 27 at Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Festival of Friends tailgating will begin at 2 p.m., and additional updates will be available on the WKU Alumni Association website.
“WKU creates opportunities for students to learn, grow and make memories to last a lifetime,” Hensley said. “As alumni, we appreciate the experiences WKU provided and celebrate those memories throughout our Homecoming festivities.”
